“Your Story Becomes Your Legacy” . You will hear me talk a lot about Legacy in the coming months. When you think of the foundation, my goal is that Legacy be the first word to come to your mind. Each of us has a story. A significant part of your story is Sacred Heart – through your own experience as an alumni or a parishioner, or perhaps the experience of your children or grandchildren, or your experiences serving the parish community or the school of Sacred Heart. This story—first loved into being in the mind of God, even as you were knit together in your mother’s womb—this story is, and was, and is becoming your Legacy. We have the gift of the Legacy of so many Saints who have gone before us in faith, doing remarkable things, accomplishing seemingly impossible feats. As we look at the Legacy of Sacred Heart, we also see the witness of those who have gone before us, doing remarkable things, accomplishing seemingly impossible feats.

I am here, for my part in this story, to help nurture this Legacy. Working together with each of you, the family of the Sacred Heart Foundation will continue to grow, providing the funding for future generations of students. Long after you have gone home, your Legacy will be a part of the story of a future boy or girl, who, having received all the graces that Catholic Education has to give, will grow up to write the next chapter.

Highlights For the Coming Year

Student Annual Drive:
Every dollar given to the Student Annual Drive directly supports the Catholic Education of a student at Sacred Heart. We will be reaching out to our Alumni Family and

Friends, to help bridge the gap between the actual cost of educating students at our school, and the amount we bring in through tuition. Our goal for this year’s Annual Drive is to raise $135,000. Please pray for the success of this year’s effort.

Giving Hearts Day 2025 is February 13th:
Our success with Giving Hearts Day has also been instrumental in building our Legacy at Sacred Heart. Through generous donations and matching gifts, Giving Hearts Day has contributed over $254,000 to Scholarships for Sacred Heart Students since 2017. We look forward to February 13th, 2025, to add to this amazing legacy of giving for our students.

Sharing the Stories of our Legacy in 2024/2025:
An important part of passing along the Legacy of Catholic Education is in the sharing of the stories that have been written in the lives of our students and alumni. We do this through the celebration of Class Reunions, Annual Alumni Gatherings, and in 2025, a Memorial Gathering for the family and friends of those who have gone before us. Bridging the Legacies Lived Today with the Stories Written Tomorrow:
It is also important to begin to work with the students who are completing their chapter here at Sacred Heart School as they go out into the world to share the graces and gifts they have received. The Executive Director will be working with the members of the senior class of 2025 to create initiatives for the beginning of their new relationship with Sacred Heart School- in gratitude for many years of receiving the gifts of others, they will be taking on the mantle of supporting the students who will come after them.
